Professional Background

Patrick J. (Pat) Denzer, president and chief executive officer, has worked for 21 years in insurance and reinsurance. He has worked at Collins since 1989, except for a two-year stint to form the Minneapolis office of another reinsurance broker in 1992. In addition to his current post, he has held positions as a broker, vice president and executive vice president at Collins. He is responsible for the company's business strategies as well as all client and market relationships.

As chief executive, Mr. Denzer has led the growth of Collins to a position of national leadership in reinsurance brokerage:

• Expanding the Collins organization from its Minneapolis headquarters to a network of branch offices in the United States, as well as in London and Bermuda;
• Enlisting the staff and resources needed to develop state-of-the-art analytical services for the firm's reinsurance clients;
• Establishing a new professional liability unit at Collins, significantly expanding the firm's expertise and capabilities beyond its original property and casualty areas; and
• Developing strong relationships with reinsurers in the United States and in several international markets.

Mr. Denzer attended the University of Minnesota and St. Cloud (Minn.) State University.
